Women are usually the target for companies looking to offload their latest abs machine invention, making false promises about how using their product everyday will generate amazing results. As you probably know, these cynical, money-making contraptions do not work. So, how can women get the slim tummy they crave? Luckily, there are numerous ab workouts for women at home, which require nothing more than a small amount of your time, and determination.

Slim down

Prior to working those abs, you need some other physical activity to increase your heart rate, boost your metabolism, and burn off some of that belly fat. For this you do not even have to go outside and jog if you do not feel like it. Instead, you can warm up, and lose weight by engaging in an intense circuit of exercises that only need last a few minutes.

All you really need is a chair, and perhaps a mat to lie on. A fine exercise for fat loss is stepping up on a chair. Do this twenty times with each foot, or on any other stable surface available that is about two feet off the ground. Follow this with jumping jacks, running on the spot, bodyweight squats and push ups for a serious burn. You should probably perform one minute for each exercise, and, if you are feeling energetic, you can try and do a second round of each! Tone Up

Once you have had enough of the warming up exercise, it's time to move on to the core. There are so many ab exercises to choose from, including the twist. This is where you put a stick behind your head, place your posterior on the floor and spread your legs apart, keeping your back straight. Simply twist from side to side to work the oblique muscles. Reverse crunches are also very effective, all you need to do here is lie flat, bring you knees towards your chest as your starting position, then push them forward and pull them in again, all the while ensuring your back remains flat on the ground.

You can add whatever exercises you wish onto those above. If you train your abs 3-4 times a week, you will see far greater results than you ever would with any machines. Ab workouts for women at home are free, easy to do, and consume very little of your time, yet produce fantastic results.
